Indian players had an outstanding performance on the final day of the Memorial Tournament in Bosnia, securing a total of 10 medals, including 9 gold and one silver. Manju Rani, an Indian boxer, displayed exceptional skills and defeated Saadia Bromond of Afghanistan by a score of 3-0 in the 50 kg category, earning the 9th gold medal for the Indian team. Rani’s remarkable performance led to her being named the best boxer of the tournament.
In addition to Rani’s victory, Barun Singh also clinched a gold medal in the men’s 51 kg category. Singh emerged victorious in the final match against Jakub Slominsk of Poland, winning by a score of 3-0. However, Akash Kumar faced disappointment in the 57 kg category as he was defeated 2-1 by Sweden’s Hadi Hardas in the final.
The success continued for the Indian team as Manish Kaushik secured a gold medal in the 63 kg category, while Naveen Kumar claimed gold in the 92 kg category. These victories highlight the exceptional talent and skill of Indian boxers in the tournament.
