All panchayats of Punjab dissolved, elections from 1 to 15 November, code of conduct will be implemented soon

The government of Punjab has announced the upcoming panchayat elections in the state. In a recent development, the gram panchayats, panchayat samitis, and zilla parishads have been dissolved, and the elections for these bodies will take place from November 1 to November 15. The Governor has issued orders for the elections of 39 councils and town panchayats, as well as the by-elections for 27 wards. The State Election Commission is expected to declare the code of conduct for the respective districts soon after announcing the polling dates.
To ensure smooth governance and development works, the government is also planning to conduct municipal elections alongside the panchayat elections. This strategy aims to avoid repeated implementation of the code of conduct and minimize any hindrance in government operations. By synchronizing the elections, the government hopes to streamline the electoral process and maintain a conducive environment for ongoing developmental activities in the state.
